Frostbite.

Ok, so I should probably start off stating that I've never actually gotten frost bite- although I feel like there are times I have come close.
See, nobody told me that the side effects of birding would include aches, then numbness and tingling. And then a burning sensation. But then again, nobody told me to start my bird journey in the middle of winter.
From what I've been told, I picked a hell of a time of the year to start...but to me, the timing was more perfect than ever.
I picked up my camera yesterday and ventured out, knowing full well how cold it was. Some may say I'm crazy, standing on an icy pier in the middle of January, taking photos of ducks...
Maybe I am crazy, and I'm here for it. There is nothing more invigorating than getting in my car with my camera, venturing into the cold- wondering what I'll come across next.
When you're out there you're lost. You immerse yourself. Not a care in the world.
...Until your camera dies from the cold, and you realize just how frozen you are- hustling back to the car to sit on your beet red hands to warm them up.
But in the moment? Everything is perfect. So, so perfect.
Anyways...
Here's to being cold for some beautiful looking ducks.
Until next time~
